Summary. We collect only the information necessary to process and deliver your order and to respond to your inquiries. We do not sell your personal information, and we do not use advertising trackers on this site.
Maroon Door eStore is a trading name of Maroon Door E-Store LLC, registered in New Jersey, United States.
If you have a question about anything on this page, write to maroondoorestore@gmail.com and a person will read it.
Your email address, your shipping address, what you bought and what you paid. Our own records keep those, so we can pack the right box, send it to the right place and email you about it. We ship within the United States only, so we ask for a US address.
Your name is collected by our payment provider as part of the delivery address and is passed to the carrier so the parcel can reach you.
We never see or store your card number. Card details are typed on a page hosted by Stripe or PayPal and go straight to them. Our website never receives them, which is deliberate — it is the single most important thing about how this shop handles your money.
Your email address and a password. The password is stored as a one-way scrambled value using a method called scrypt, with a random salt unique to you. It cannot be unscrambled, so nobody — including us — can read your password or recover it.
Your email address, so we can send the code. Signing up also puts you on our email list — the form says so before you type anything — and you can leave with one click, at any time.
We also store a simplified version of your address — ignoring any +tag and, for
Gmail, any dots — so that one mailbox cannot claim the offer over and over under slightly different
spellings.
Your name, email address, order number and whatever you write to us. Return requests also record which items and the reason you gave.
When you sign up, sign in, claim a code, contact us or start a return, we briefly hold the network address (IP address) your request came from. It is used only to stop one person flooding the site with hundreds of requests, it is held in memory for a few minutes, and it is never written to a file or attached to your order.
Like any website, ours runs on servers and through a network provider that keep their own operational logs. Those are theirs, kept for security and reliability, and are covered by their privacy policies rather than this one.
This site sets one cookie, and only if you sign in to an account. It holds a signed token that says you are logged in, lasts 30 days, and is how the site remembers you between pages.
Three things are kept in your browser's local storage. They never leave your device, we cannot read them, and clearing your browser data removes them:
There are no advertising cookies and no advertising trackers on this site. No third party is following you around the web from here.
Some browsers can send a “Do Not Track” signal. We do not track you across other websites at all, so there is nothing for that signal to switch off.
We do not allow anyone to collect information about your activity across other websites through this one.
We use a small number of companies to run the shop. They only ever get what they need to do their job, and none of them are allowed to use your information for their own marketing.
If we later add an email provider to send order confirmations and newsletters, it will appear on this list before it is used.
We do not sell your personal information, and we never have. We do not share it for advertising, and we do not hand it to data brokers.
Two things put you on our email list, and both of them say so at the time:
Neither applies if you have unsubscribed. An unsubscribe stays in force whatever else you do on the site.
Every marketing email we send carries an unsubscribe link and our postal address, and unsubscribing takes effect straight away. You do not need an account or a password to unsubscribe, and we will never charge you for it.
Unsubscribing is final until you reverse it yourself. Nothing else puts you back on the list — not placing an order, not claiming another discount code, not creating an account. The only way back is a button on the unsubscribe page, and only you can press it.
You can also unsubscribe here at any time, without waiting for an email to arrive.
Unsubscribing is remembered against your mailbox rather than the exact spelling you typed, so a
+tag or an extra dot will not quietly put you back on the list.
Emails about an order you actually placed — confirmations, tracking, a problem with your parcel — are not marketing, and you will keep getting those.
Two of these you can do yourself, right now, without asking anyone:
For anything else, write to us at the address above and you can ask us to:
We will not charge you for asking and we will not treat you differently for it. We may need to keep records of completed orders even after closing an account, because tax rules require it.
Depending on where you live, your state may give you further rights over your personal information. Ask us and we will honour what applies to you.
The whole site runs over an encrypted connection. Passwords are stored scrambled and unrecoverable. Card numbers never reach us at all. No system is perfectly secure, and we would rather say that plainly than promise otherwise.
This shop is meant for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, write to us and we will remove it.
If we change anything meaningful here, we will post the new version on this page and change the date at the top, so the date always tells you which version you are reading. If you are on our email list and a change affects you directly, we will tell you there too.
This policy describes how this website actually works, not a generic template. If something on this page does not match what you experience on the site, tell us — that would be a mistake we want to fix.
